RentLink

Privacy

The short version: your mobile number goes to the owner of the building whose board you scanned, and to nobody else. We do not sell it, we do not advertise, and you can ask us to delete it.

Who is answerable

RentLink decides why and how this data is used. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 that makes them the data fiduciary, and the same contact is the grievance officer.

Write to contact@rentlink.in for anything on this page.

RentLink is in a small private pilot. If that changes — including when the operating company is incorporated — this page is updated before anything else is.

What we collect from you, if you scan a board

  • Your mobile number. Required, because it is the only way the owner can call you back.
  • Your name and your message. Both optional, both blank unless you type them.
  • Which home at that address you asked about.

That is the whole list. No email, no address, no ID, no documents, and no account — you never sign in to ask for a visit.

Who sees it

The owner of that one building. Not other owners, not brokers, not advertisers, and it is never sold. There is no listings catalogue behind a board: a scan looks up one address and cannot list the rest.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, and no data sold or shared for it.
  • No third-party analytics or tracking scripts on the board page.
  • No cookie is set when you scan a board. Signing in sets one, and only owners sign in.

How long we keep it

A request stays with the owner until they delete it. Letting the home or closing the lead marks it done but does not remove it, so an owner can see who else asked; deleting it erases your name, number and message for good. It is not kept as a mailing list, because there are no mailings.

Deleting your details

Ask, and the request is erased — your number, your name and your message. This is a real delete, not a hidden flag: after it, the record of you is gone from the system, and what survives is an anonymous count that one scan turned into one request.

Write to contact@rentlink.in from the number’s owner or mention the building, and it is done. You may also ask the owner directly — they can erase it themselves.

If you are an owner

Signing in with Google gives us your name and email address, and nothing else from your Google account. What you type about your buildings, homes and tenants is yours: it is visible only to you, and the database enforces that rather than the screen.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask what we hold about you, correct it, have it erased, or complain about how it was handled. One address, above, for all four. If you are not satisfied you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
